A Unique and Functional Staircase

Thomas completed a magnificent renovation project by creating a miller-style staircase made entirely of plywood. This staircase is not only an aesthetically pleasing statement piece, but also a practical space-saving solution in areas where every inch counts.

Design and Materials

The staircase is made entirely of plywood, painted white to provide a modern and sleek finish that blends perfectly into any contemporary interior. Plywood, known for its durability and strength, is an ideal choice for this application. The steps are carefully cut and assembled to ensure a comfortable and safe climb.

Custom Made with TOSIZE.pl

Thomas used TOSIZE.pl to precisely cut the plywood, ensuring each piece fit perfectly. This custom design offers the freedom to customize every aspect of the project, from exact dimensions to material selection.

Wood Used: Plywood Marine B/BB

The B/BB marine plywood used for this staircase offers exceptional moisture resistance. Its flawless, smooth surface is easy to paint and maintain, making it a material of choice for clean, durable finishes.

Practical Tips for Making Your Project a Success

Remember to sand the surfaces thoroughly before joining them to achieve a high-quality finish. Using precision tools will ensure a perfect fit, even in tight spaces.

My experience with TOSIZE.pl

The staircase leading to the 2nd floor was too steep. I decided to replace the steps by spacing them out. By slightly moving the first and last steps, I was able to change the slope from 54 to 51°. Then, I decided to increase the height and width of the steps, beyond the standard Blondel rule. Tread 21 cm, height 27 cm. Comfort and safety have significantly increased. The steps are made of 4 cm thick plywood.
